Matt Kato joined Spartan Light Metal Products as Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) in August 2023. Matt collaborates closely with Spartan’s internal and external customers on strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing the company’s success.

With over 25 years of commercial and operational experience, Matt is a seasoned business leader known for establishing strong relationships based on trust, honesty, and open communication. Before joining Spartan, Matt held progressive roles across various business functions at Pace, TRW Automotive, Hayes-Lemmerz, and Faurecia. He also served as President of the IBC Services division at Quala, where he oversaw operations in bulk container cleaning for the chemical and transportation sectors.

He holds a BBA from Michigan State University and an MBA from Eastern Michigan University.
