Tom Messner joined Spartan Light Metal Products in January 2021.  With over 30 years of experience in the Automotive and Commercial Transportation and Defense markets, he leads the company’s senior staff and oversee business operations, growth, and profitability. His thorough understanding of our customers and industries is also a great asset for Spartan. Tom brings a wealth of knowledge to his role, having worked with both OEM’s and Tier 1 automotive suppliers in the U.S. and internationally. He is also strengthening our operational expertise and leading us through the rapidly evolving automotive market.

Tom’s background includes over 30 years in the Automotive and Commercial Transportation marketplaces, serving in a range of general management, commercial, manufacturing, engineering, and operations roles.   In his previous role as President of General Aluminum (A Park Ohio Company), Tom oversaw key strategic initiative that drove both growth and improvements in financial and operations performance.  Prior to that, Tom was Vice President of Sales at Faurecia. 

Tom earned a Bachelor in Science in Mechanical Engineering from Clemson University and later received a Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Carnegie Institute of Technology at Carnegie Mellon University.
